Sirios Resources Inc. announced visible gold at eight locations in the first drill hole of their Fall 2024 program at the Cheechoo gold project in Quebec. Multiple gold grains were observed at various depths, confirming gold presence. The drill hole reached 399 meters in depth, and assay results will specify gold grade.

The ongoing drilling program targets high-grade zones at Cheechoo. Phase 1 will consist of approximately 2,000 meters of drilling to delineate and expand high-grade zones in the eastern part of the deposit. Phase 2, set for winter 2025, will focus on the western part, including the high-grade Eclipse zone.

The primary objectives of the drilling program are to gather data for a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update and test high-priority targets identified during a comprehensive review. The Cheechoo gold deposit is characterized by multiple gold-enriched zones within tonalite intrusion, suggesting potential for additional high-grade zones.

Cheechoo, located near Newmont’s Éléonore gold mine, contains 1.4 million ounces of gold in indicated resources and 500,000 ounces in inferred resources. Underground mining scenarios were not evaluated in the 2022 MRE. The drilling campaign is part of Sirios’ new vision for the project, focusing on high-grade zones for open-pit and underground development.
