Wall Street had a mixed session, with the Dow up 426 points for its third daily win, the S&P 500 higher for the fifth session, and the Nasdaq barely above breakeven. Small-caps surged, with the Russell 2000 winning all five daily sessions and securing its third weekly win in four.
Bitcoin prices approached $100,000, while traders analyzed November’s PMI reading and consumer sentiment data.
Oil futures rose 6.4% for the week due to Ukraine-Russia tensions, while European business activity hit a 10-month low. Gold prices are set to add 5.3% for the week, their best since March 2023, driven by demand for haven assets amid the Russia-Ukraine war. Gold is near $2,706 an ounce.
