Walmart confirmed the end of diversity initiatives, removing LGBTQ-related items from its site and winding down a minority-funded nonprofit. Companies like Tractor Supply, Lowe’s, Ford, and Target have also scaled back diversity efforts. Walmart will no longer allow certain LGBTQ-themed items on its site and has stopped sharing data with LGBTQ organizations. The retailer is phasing out supplier diversity programs and changing DEI terminology. Walmart will still support events like Pride parades but with stricter guidelines. The changes were influenced by conservative activist pressure, including threats of boycotts.
