U.S. investor Acadia Infrastructure Capital, with Microsoft and other companies, is set to develop a $9 billion pipeline of renewable energy projects across the country. The Climate and Communities Investment Coalition aims to build 5 gigawatts of renewable power over five years, benefiting local communities with clean energy access and job opportunities.

The CCIC will help companies meet environmental targets by providing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) attached to projects. These RECs can be sold to green power supply or offset emissions. The pace of renewable energy build-out will accelerate with corporate investment, attracting additional funding to support expansion.

Microsoft-backed Matrix Renewables secured financing for a 210 megawatt solar project, marking the CCIC’s first deal. The programme aligns with Microsoft’s renewable energy goals, supporting high-quality procurement. Non-profit Sustain Our Future Foundation is collaborating to ensure social impact, delivering lasting benefits to community stakeholders.
