Australia stocks closed lower, S&P/ASX 200 down 0.56%, with some sectors hit particularly hard

Australia stocks closed lower on Monday, with losses in the and sectors leading the decline. The lost 0.56% to hit a new 1-month low. Top performers included Austal Ltd, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd, and Healius Ltd. On the flip side, Appen Ltd, Resolute Mining Ltd, and Platinum Asset Management Ltd were among the worst performers. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange. Platinum Asset Management Ltd hit all-time lows. The was up 3.09%. Gold Futures and Crude oil prices fell, while AUD/USD remained unchanged. The US Dollar Index Futures dropped 0.16%.
