CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju proposes the U.S. could strategically accumulate Bitcoin to address a portion of its debt. He suggests setting up a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve to acquire about 1 million BTC by 2050, which could offset 36% of domestically held debt and 70% of total U.S. debt.
Young Ju believes designating Bitcoin as a strategic asset like gold could enhance its status and credibility as a store of value. Despite challenges such as market acceptance and volatility, establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve could signal confidence in BTC’s long-term potential and encourage broader market acceptance.
Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari doubts Bitcoin’s practical use, while Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy holds a different view. The ongoing debate among cryptocurrency analysts and financial experts continues.
