U.S. automakers Ford and General Motors will donate $1 million each, along with vehicles, to Donald Trump’s January inauguration. Policies on tariffs and electric vehicles under consideration by the incoming administration could impact Detroit carmakers like Ford.
Ford CEO Jim Farley expressed optimism that Trump would be receptive to the company’s perspectives. General Motors is also contributing $1 million and vehicles to the event.
Trump’s 2017 inauguration raised a record $106.7 million, while Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration received $61.8 million in contributions from companies like Pfizer, AT&T, and Boeing.
