Island Passage Exploration begins Phase Four of mineral exploration on Bougainville Island, showing promising results.

Island Passage Exploration Limited (IPX) begins Phase Four of mineral exploration on Bougainville Island’s Isina exploration license (EL02). The team has successfully conducted the first three phases, employing over 30 Bougainvilleans and identifying six prospect-scale areas of interest. High-grade gold-silver-copper vein systems have also been discovered. The company plans to expand its exploration program in 2025.

IPX has covered 80% of the license with stream sediment sampling, leading to the delineation of six large target areas. These targets are based on geochemistry of stream sediment and rocks, with multi-element anomalies indicating potential mineralization. The Isina and Enara targets show promising signs of gold, silver, copper, and molybdenum mineralization in rock samples.

Isina Resource Holdings Ltd. was founded in 2009 by chiefs of nine major clans in south Central Bougainville. The company holds EL02 over its lands, located 9 km SE of the Panguna open pit along the Crown Prince Range. Island Passage Exploration Ltd., a Canadian company established in 2022, is partnering with IRHL to drive exploration and development on Bougainville.

As the Phase 4 campaign progresses, the IPX technical team is preparing for an internal audit to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. Detailed target definition work is ongoing at Isina and Enara, with soil sampling demonstrating continuity of vein systems. The team is focused on mapping, rock sampling, and soil sampling to further explore the potential of these targets.
