Ro to offer weight loss drug Zepbound vials by working with Eli Lilly
From CNBC: 2024-12-11 08:12:36
Ro has partnered with Eli Lilly to offer more affordable single-dose vials of the weight loss drug Zepbound through their platform. Patients can receive a diagnosis, prescription, and have the drug delivered to their homes through the Ro app. The vials are cash-pay products at a lower cost than the autoinjector form.
The 2.5mg and 5mg single-dose vials of Zepbound cost $399 and $549 per month respectively before insurance. This makes them more accessible to patients without insurance coverage. Ro aims to streamline access to Zepbound by offering a complete end-to-end experience on their platform, eliminating the need for patients to visit multiple places to get the drug.
Eli Lilly and Ro are working to expand access to Zepbound to provide patients with safe and effective options. The FDA is reconsidering removing Zepbound from the drug shortages list, which could prevent compounding pharmacies from making custom versions of the drug. Ro is committed to following all applicable laws and ensuring patients have access to the most effective and affordable products.
