Indian shares are expected to open flat on Friday, following a lackluster session on Wall Street and mixed cues from Asian markets. The Indian economy is projected to grow around 6.5 percent in fiscal year 2024-25, according to the Finance Ministry. Banks’ profitability rose for the sixth consecutive year in 2023-24, with gross bad debts declining to a 13-year low of 2.7 percent. The rupee closed at a record low of 85.27 per dollar. Asian stocks traded mixed, with Japanese markets leading gains. U.S. stocks ended mixed, with retail sales beating forecasts and jobless claims falling unexpectedly.
