SiriusPoint repurchases shares and warrants from CM Bermuda for $733 million

Specialty insurer SiriusPoint Ltd. has agreed to repurchase all shares and warrants held by CM Bermuda Limited for $733 million. The transaction will be completed in two tranches, with the first payment of $250 million made on December 30. The closing of the deal is expected on or before February 28, 2025, with a second payment of $483 million. The CEO of SiriusPoint, Scott Egan, stated that the transaction will be accretive to earnings per share and return on equity, positioning the company well for the future and focusing on driving further value creation for shareholders.
