U.K. stocks closed higher with gains in various sectors. The FTSE 100 added 0.11%. Top performers included Airtel Africa, Smurfit WestRock PLC, and Centrica PLC. On the other hand, Frasers Group PLC, Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC, and Entain PLC were the worst performers. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones with 916 to 801.

Gold Futures for February delivery fell by 0.53% to $2,631.21 per troy ounce. Crude oil for February delivery dropped by 1.07% to $68.72 a barrel, while March Brent oil contract fell by 1.09% to $71.77 a barrel. GBP/USD was at 1.25, EUR/GBP at 0.83, and the US Dollar Index Futures at 107.79.
