Despite recent losses, the major averages posted strong gains for the year, with the Nasdaq up nearly 30%, the Dow up almost 13%, and the S&P 500 gaining over 20%. Concerns about market outlook in 2025 following recent volatility contributed to the pullback. Overseas, Asian markets closed lower while European markets mostly rose. Treasuries saw modest weakness, with the yield on the ten-year note rising to 4.573%.
