Asian shares closed mostly up, with European shares trading higher. Investors anticipate more rate cuts by the U.S. Federal Reserve in 2025. Dow futures were down 93.00 points, S&P 500 futures up 3.75 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures progressing 85.00 points. The major U.S. averages finished positive on Friday, with the Dow up 498.02 points, Nasdaq up 199.83 points, and S&P 500 up 63.77 points. Economic data to be released includes the Chicago Fed National Activity Index and the Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence for December. Asian markets closed higher, with Chinese and Japanese markets rising sharply. Australian stocks also bounced back. European shares are mostly higher, with France’s CAC 40 gaining, Germany’s DAX declining slightly, England’s FTSE 100 progressing, and the Swiss Market Index up. Euro Stoxx 50 is down slightly.
