In 1973, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B) held its first annual shareholder meeting in an employee cafeteria, now drawing 40,000 investors yearly. Warren Buffett, the “Oracle of Omaha,” shares investment traits and led Class A shares to a gain of over 5,470,000% in six decades as CEO.

Buffett’s $297 billion investment portfolio includes nine key stocks, with Apple comprising 24.8% of assets. Despite selling shares, Apple remains the top holding. Buffett cites low corporate tax rates and lack of value in the market as reasons for selling.

American Express, with 15.4% of assets, is a long-term holding for Buffett since 1991. Its dual revenue model as a credit card issuer and lender, along with attracting high earners, makes it a standout investment.

Bank of America, the third-largest holding, comprises 11.7% of assets. Buffett’s faith in bank stocks stems from their cyclical growth pattern and sensitivity to economic cycles.

Coca-Cola, the longest-held stock, accounts for 8.2% of assets. Its global presence, strong branding, and diverse consumer base make it a stable investment choice.

Chevron, a recent addition to the portfolio, accounts for 5.9% of assets. Its integrated business model and consistent cash flow generation make it a valuable investment.

Occidental Petroleum, another energy stock in the portfolio, comprises 4.5% of assets. Its focus on drilling operations and balance sheet dynamics differentiate it from other energy giants.

Moody’s, a top investment since 2000, constitutes 3.9% of assets. Moody’s growth has shifted from Investors Services to Analytics due to changing lending rates and regulations.

Kraft Heinz, a struggling investment, makes up 3.3% of assets. Overpaying for the company and declining volume are key challenges, despite its consumer staples focus.

Chubb, a confidential addition, represents 2.4% of assets. Its stability in the insurance industry and benefits from the Fed’s rate hikes make it a promising investment choice.
