American Airlines Group Inc. reported record revenue of $13.7 billion in the fourth quarter and $54.2 billion for the full year of 2024. The company achieved a GAAP net income of $590 million and $846 million for the fourth quarter and full year, respectively. American announced a 10-year co-branded credit card partnership with Citi.

American Airlines projects a first-quarter 2025 adjusted loss per diluted share of between ($0.20) to ($0.40) and full-year 2025 adjusted earnings per diluted share of $1.70 to $2.70. The company’s financial results exceeded prior guidance, with an operating margin of 8.3% in the fourth quarter. Excluding net special items, the adjusted operating margin was 8.4% for the quarter.

The airline reported strong revenue performance driven by capacity adjustments and demand strength. American’s fourth-quarter unit revenue was up 2.0% year-over-year, with positive results in Domestic, Atlantic, Pacific, and total passenger unit revenue compared to other U.S. network carriers. The company also announced a new 10-year agreement with Citi for its AAdvantage® co-branded credit card portfolio.

American Airlines generated record free cash flow of $2.2 billion in 2024, enabling further strengthening of its balance sheet.
