Brazilian airline Azul is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with rival carrier Gol’s parent Abra for a potential merger, according to Valor Economico. The memorandum would detail governance, capital structure, and deal options. Gol has not commented, while Azul declined to do so.

Azul has been discussing opportunities with Abra Group, leading to speculation about a merger with Gol. The carriers entered a codeshare deal last May. The completion of Gol’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding in April is a key factor for the potential merger, as reported by Valor.
