Citigroup and Bank of America are leaving the Net-Zero Banking Alliance

Citigroup and Bank of America are leaving the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, following Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs. The alliance aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. While Citigroup remains committed to this goal, it is exiting the alliance. Bank of America will also leave NZBA but continue to work with clients to reduce emissions. In a separate development, BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street face a lawsuit from Texas and other states, accusing them of antitrust violations related to climate activism. The Net-Zero Banking Alliance is part of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, with Citigroup and Bank of America as founding members.
