Daiichi Sankyo appoints Hiroyuki Okuzawa as new CEO, Sunao Manabe to become Executive Chairperson

Japanese healthcare firm Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd has appointed Hiroyuki Okuzawa as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1. Okuzawa, who has been with the company since 1986, will take over from Sunao Manabe, who will become the Executive Chairperson. The transition is part of the company’s five-year business plan (FY2021-2025) and aims to strengthen its management structure for future growth. Okuzawa plans to create a new vision for the company and develop a new five-year business plan (FY2026-2030). Daiichi Sankyo shares were trading at 4,299.00 yen in Tokyo, down 2.56 percent.
