EA lowers Q3 guidance as soccer and other games ‘underperformed’

Electronic Arts (EA) cut its full-year bookings outlook due to poor game performance, notably EA Sports FC. Q3 net bookings are expected to be $2.215 billion, revenue at $1.88 billion, and diluted EPS at $1.11. Full-year net bookings are forecasted at $7 billion-$7.15 billion, down from $7.5 billion-$7.8 billion. The company cited underperformance of Dragon Age and EA Sports FC 25. EA’s soccer franchise has seen a slowdown, with live services bookings expected to decline in fiscal 2025. EA recently updated FC 25 with new content and gameplay improvements, but shares dropped 7% in extended trading.
