Fire agencies are investigating whether Southern California Edison’s utility infrastructure caused a brush fire in a Los Angeles suburb. SCE found a downed conductor at a tower associated with its circuit. The fire in Sylmar has burned over 770 acres and is 77% contained. The damage has led to over 10,000 structures destroyed and nearly 30,000 acres burned. AccuWeather estimates the economic loss at $135-150 billion, indicating a difficult recovery ahead.
