In afternoon trading on Friday, Utilities stocks are the worst performing sector, with CenterPoint Energy, Inc (CNP) and NRG Energy Inc (NRG) showing losses of 1.4% and 1.3% respectively. The Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU) is up 0.3% on the day and 4.35% year-to-date. In comparison, Healthcare stocks are up 0.3%, with Eli Lilly (LLY) and Merck & Co Inc (MRK) down 2.6% and 1.8% respectively. The Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) is down 0.1% in midday trading and up 2.51% year-to-date. The S&P 500 components across various sectors are largely up on the day.
