U.K. stocks are mostly flat as investors process mixed economic data and corporate news. The FTSE 100 is down 0.27% at 8,227.37. JD Sports Fashion, Entain, and 3i are among the top gainers, while Next Plc sees a surge in shares after strong Christmas sales. However, Taylor Wimpey, Compass Group, and Natwest Group are down.

UK house prices fell for the first time in nine months, with a 0.2% drop in December. Despite this, prices are expected to rise moderately in 2021. The construction PMI decreased to 53.3 points, and retail sales increased by 3.1% in December after a drop in November.
