President Trump’s threat of 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico from Feb. 1 sent shares of Asian automakers and battery firms lower. Companies like Audi, BMW, BYD, Honda, JAC Motors, Kia Corp, Mazda, Nissan Motor, Stellantis, Toyota Motor, and Volkswagen could be affected due to their operations in Mexico.

Autoliv, Michelin, Yanfeng, Pirelli, Brembo, Eurogroup Laminations, and Tesla are among the auto suppliers with plants in Mexico. Tesla encouraged its Chinese suppliers to set up plants in Mexico and is focusing on an expansion plan for its Texas plant.

Electronics companies like Foxconn, Lenovo, LG Electronics, and Samsung Electronics have manufacturing sites in Mexico, producing AI servers, computers, TVs, home appliances, and EV parts. Campari, P&G, Unilever, Pepsico, and Lay’s chips are among the packaged goods companies exposed to tariffs on imports from Mexico.
