General Motors (NYSE:GM) projects strong 2025 financial performance with adjusted earnings per share expected to be $11 to $12, surpassing estimates. Net income forecasted between $11.2 billion and $12.5 billion. Capital spending set at $10 billion to $11 billion for 2025 to focus on internal-combustion engine vehicles and electric cars.
GM’s 2024 earnings before interest and taxes reached $14.9 billion, with annual revenue climbing 9.1% year-over-year to $187.4 billion. The company capitalized on resilient consumer demand for trucks and SUVs, posting adjusted earnings above forecast at $1.92 per share for the fourth quarter of 2024.
Despite the positive outlook, GM’s shares dropped more than 4% in pre-market today. CEO Mary Barra emphasized the company’s diversified lineup to navigate uncertainties, including trade policies, tax changes, and environmental regulations. GM anticipates a $500 million benefit from cost reductions in its Cruise autonomous driving division for 2025.
