J.B. Hunt Transport Services (NASDAQ:JBHT) reported mixed results for Q4 2024, with earnings below expectations but revenue slightly exceeding estimates. Despite this, shares fell over 7% after the announcement.

Quarterly earnings per share were $1.53, missing the consensus of $1.64. Revenue reached $3.15 billion, a 5% decrease from last year, mainly due to weaker fuel surcharge revenue and pricing pressure in the Intermodal segment.

Intermodal revenue dropped by 2% to $1.60 billion, with operating income down 10% to $117.0 million. Despite strong demand trends, lower pricing offset volume increases, impacting profitability.

Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) revenue fell 5% to $839 million, but operating income grew 5% to $90.3 million, indicating increased efficiency. Integrated Capacity Solutions (ICS) unit struggled, with revenue down 15% to $308 million and an operating loss of $21.8 million.

Quarterly net income rose slightly to $155.5 million. For the full year, J.B. Hunt reported a 6% revenue decrease to $12.09 billion, with diluted earnings per share down 20% to $5.56.
