JCPenney has merged with SPARC Group to create Catalyst Brands, combining six American retail brands under one umbrella. This joint venture includes Aéropostale, Eddie Bauer, and Forever 21, among others, with big names like Simon Property Group and Authentic Brands Group as shareholders. Catalyst Brands launches with over $9 billion in revenue, 1,800 store locations, and 60,000 employees. The new organization will offer a variety of fashion styles, from formal wear to casual apparel. The deal does not impact the intellectual property owned by Authentic Brands Group. Marc Rosen is now the CEO of Catalyst Brands, with plans to accelerate innovation and grow the brands further.
