Elon Musk is fighting a class-action lawsuit claiming his $1 million-a-day election giveaway violated Texas law. The lawsuit accuses Musk and his PAC of misleading participants about the prize selection process. Musk argues that participants knew they could earn funds as PAC spokespeople, not through a lottery. The lawsuit seeks $5 million in damages for alleged deception.

Musk’s $1 million daily giveaway, part of his support for Trump’s 2024 campaign, offered prizes to voters who signed a petition supporting the U.S. Constitution. The legal battle questions if this was an illegal inducement or a lawful promotional effort. The lawsuit, filed by Jacqueline McAferty, alleges the giveaway was deceptive and violated state laws. Musk defends that participants understood the terms and were not misled.
