Richardson Electronics sells healthcare segment to DirectMed, gains in after-hours trading.

Richardson Electronics Ltd. sold a substantial portion of Richardson Healthcare to DirectMed Imaging. The company closed regular trading at $13.12, down 1.80%, but gained 7.47% in after-hours trading. A 10-year global supply agreement was entered with DirectMed for repaired Siemens CT X-ray tubes. Richardson Electronics will also continue manufacturing ALTA CT X-ray tubes for DirectMed for 12 to 18 months. The remaining assets of Richardson Healthcare reportable segment will be consolidated into the PMT reportable segment, focusing on CT X-ray tube manufacturing and repair.
