Budget airline Ryanair reported a stronger-than-expected after-tax profit of 149 million euros for the December quarter but cut its passenger traffic goal for the fiscal year to 206 million due to Boeing delivery delays. The airline cited marginally higher fares and 9% traffic growth to 45 million passengers despite the delays.
Ryanair CFO Neil Sorahan expressed optimism for the future but acknowledged disappointment in missing traffic numbers. He noted significant improvements in Boeing’s production facilities and expressed confidence in meeting aircraft needs. Cautious guidance was given for after-tax profit in the range of 1.55 billion euros to 1.61 billion euros due to external risks and potential further delays.
