Indian shares were flat to slightly higher with mixed performance from individual stocks

Indian shares were flat to slightly higher on Thursday, with the Sensex up 105 points and the Nifty up 62 points in early trade. Bajaj Finance saw a 4.3 percent surge in quarterly net profit, while Adani Enterprises, Bajaj Finserv, and Adani Ports rose 1-3 percent ahead of earnings reports. Tata Motors dropped 7.6 percent after a 22 percent decline in Q3 profit, while Ambuja Cements tumbled 3.2 percent despite a doubling of Q3 profit due to other income and government grants. Investors are awaiting cues from the upcoming Union Budget and next week’s MPC meeting.
