SpaceX ended 2024 with its final launch of Starlink satellites, marking the 134th mission of the year. Despite missing its goal of 144 launches, SpaceX conducted more than half of all space launches globally in 2024. The company is now focusing on Starship, aiming for 25 launches in 2025. SpaceX plans to phase out Falcon 9 rockets in favor of Starship, which has lower launch costs and higher cargo capacity. This strategic shift could reshape the spaceflight industry, making it harder for competitors to keep up with SpaceX’s cost-efficient launches.
