Taiwan stocks close higher with gains in technology and manufacturing sectors, Taiex index up 0.33%

Taiwan stocks closed higher on Monday, with gains in technology and manufacturing sectors. The Taiex index rose by 0.33%. Top performers included Global Brands Manufacture Ltd, Universal Inc, and Spirox Corp. Chroma ATE Inc, Goldsun Building Materials Co Ltd, and Asia Optical Co Inc were among the worst performers. Crude oil prices fell, with Brent oil at $76.23 a barrel.

USD/TWD rose to 32.94, while TWD/CNY remained unchanged. The US Dollar Index Futures dropped to 108.76. Overall, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Gold futures also fell to $2,645.16 a troy ounce.
