Taiwan stocks closed lower by 1.39% due to losses in various sectors

Taiwan stocks closed lower on Friday, with losses in various sectors. The Taiex lost 1.39% by the end of trading. Top performers included Mao Bao Inc, Universal Inc, and Adimmune Corp, while Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd, Asia Optical Co Inc, and Aurotek Corp were among the worst performers.

In commodities trading, crude oil for February delivery rose to $74.31 a barrel, while Brent oil for March delivery reached $77.34 a barrel. Gold futures for February also rose to $2,699.32 a troy ounce. The USD/TWD exchange rate increased to 32.96, with TWD/CNY remaining unchanged.

The US Dollar Index Futures saw a 0.17% increase to reach 109.19. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, with crude oil prices and currency exchange rates showing slight fluctuations.
