Trump appoints Stanley Woodward to White House legal team as assistant and senior counselor

Donald Trump has named Stanley Woodward to join his White House legal team, serving as an assistant to the president and senior counselor. Woodward has represented top aides like Dan Scavino and Peter Navarro, as well as defendants charged in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, including Kelly Meggs.

Woodward will work closely with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles. Trump also announced the return of three assistants from his first term: Robert Gabriel, Nicholas Luna, and William “Beau” Harrison. David Warrington was previously named as Trump’s top lawyer for the White House legal team, with Trump set to take office on Jan. 20.
