TSX Ends Higher For 5th Straight Session

The Canadian market closed higher for a sixth straight session on news that the Trump administration will delay imposing trade tariffs. The S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 103.66 points to end at 25,171.58, with energy and materials shares leading the upmove. Energy stocks rose 2.32%, while materials stocks increased by 1.17%. Bombardier Inc surged 7.3% and Bausch + Lomb rallied 6.3%. Telesat Corporation, Kinaxis Inc, Toronto-Dominion Bank, and Lessonade Industries closed notably lower. Overall, the market responded positively to the news of delayed tariffs on Canada and other trade partners.
