Cartier Resources Inc. plans to evaluate the economic potential of reprocessing Chimo Tailings Project, which contains waste materials from the past producing Chimo Mine, with 379,012 ounces of gold produced from 1964 to 1997. Located near Val-d’Or, the project aims to unlock value through tailings reprocessing in a favorable gold price environment.
In the next months, Cartier will conduct a tailings characterization program to determine the amount of gold that can be extracted from the site. Simultaneously, a 100,000-m drilling program will be executed, focusing on innovative AI exploration tools, mineral resource estimates, and high-grade gold discoveries for potential growth opportunities.
