Bunge Global SA reports earnings and sales miss for Q4, EPS drops 42% Y/Y

Bunge Global SA reported fourth-quarter 2024 adjusted earnings of $2.13 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 7% and marking a 42% year-over-year decline. Including one-time items, earnings per share were $4.36, compared to $4.18 in the year-ago quarter. Net sales were $13.5 billion, beating estimates of $12.8 billion.

The company’s cost of sales was $12.46 billion, with a gross profit decline of 13.8% year over year to $1.08 billion. Operating profit was $767 million, a 19% decline from the year-ago quarter. Adjusted total segment operating profit fell 47% to $445 million with a 3.3% segment operating margin.

In the Agribusiness segment, sales declined 9.5% to $9.8 billion, with adjusted operating profit down 43% to $364 million. The merchandising business saw a 167% improvement in adjusted operating profit, while the processing business’s profit plunged 59%. Refined & Specialty Oils segment sales fell 7% to $3.25 billion with an adjusted operating profit drop of 24.5%.

Bunge Global’s 2024 adjusted earnings were $9.19 per share, missing estimates and falling 33% from the prior year. Total revenues decreased 11% to $53.1 billion. For 2025, the company projects adjusted earnings per share of $7.75, a 15.7% decline from 2024.

Bunge Global is progressing on integrating with Viterra to create a premier agribusiness solutions firm. Shares of Bunge Global have dropped 15.7% in the past year. Archer Daniels Midland Company posted fourth-quarter earnings that surpassed estimates, while West Fraser Timber Co. and Dole are set to report results soon.
