Deutsche Telekom MMS, a subsidiary of European telecom giant Deutsche Telekom, has joined layer-1 blockchain Injective as a validator. This move aims to enhance network security and decentralization. The company will stake INJ tokens to propose blocks, validate transactions, and participate in governance. Deutsche Telekom MMS is the 60th validator for Injective, joining big names like Kraken and Binance. The telecom giant operates in over 50 countries, serving 252 million mobile customers worldwide. Deutsche Telekom MMS was established in 1995 to develop TV software and has since expanded its IT services. The company has been increasing its presence in the crypto space, becoming validators for Polygon and Celo, operating a Bitcoin node, and engaging in BTC mining with renewable energy. Other mainstream companies, like Google Cloud, have also been entering the validator space in the blockchain industry, showcasing the growing institutional interest in decentralized technology.
