From Nasdaq: 2025-02-17 13:16:00

IAMGOLD Corporation (IAG) is set to report fourth-quarter 2024 results on Feb. 20 after market close. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings is 14 cents per share, showing a significant improvement from six cents in Q4 2023. IAG has a history of beating estimates, with an average surprise of 203.4%.

IAMGOLD’s Q4 performance was shaped by increased production at the Côté Gold and Westwood mines, offsetting lower production at the Essakane mine. The company’s gold sales in Q4 were 177,000 ounces at an average price of $2,509 per ounce, totaling $444 million in revenue, higher than Q4 2023.

Despite expected margin impacts from higher consumable prices and operating costs at the Côté Gold Mine, IAG’s earnings are likely to be offset by higher revenues. The stock has shown strong performance, gaining 148% in the past year compared to industry growth of 50.4%.

In the basic materials sector, companies like Osisko Gold Royalties (OR) and Newmont (NEM) are expected to post strong earnings in Q4. OR has an Earnings ESP of +7.15% and NEM has an ESP of +6.44%. CF Industries (CF) is also expected to report in-line results with a Consensus Estimate of $1.49 per share for Q4 2024.
