The Malaysia stock market closed lower for the second consecutive day, with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index falling almost 25 points to 1,568.03. Financial shares, telecoms, and plantations were among the sectors that experienced losses. Global markets are negative, with weakness expected from technology and oil companies. On Wall Street, the Dow closed up 0.37%, while the NASDAQ and S&P 500 both finished lower. Concerns about the sustainability of the artificial intelligence trade and a significant deterioration in U.S. consumer confidence contributed to the market’s performance. Oil futures settled lower at $68.93 a barrel due to demand and oversupply concerns.
