Microsoft has confirmed Skype’s shutdown by May, urging users to transition to Teams, its newer collaboration platform. Skype, acquired by Microsoft in 2011, saw integration attempts into Windows 10 and various app versions. Teams, introduced in 2017, competes with Slack and offers easy migration for Skype users till May 5. The move signifies the end of an era for Skype.
