Investments in public and private companies saw declines, impacting the overall portfolio value. SoftBank is shifting focus to AI investments, closing in on a $40 billion deal with OpenAI at a $260 billion valuation, surpassing Microsoft as top backer. The company also committed to a $3 billion annual investment in OpenAI’s tech. SoftBank shares rose 45% last year.
