The Taiwan stock market is set to open lower on Friday after two straight sessions of losses, with the global forecast for Asian markets being negative due to pressure on retail and technology stocks. The TSE closed lower on Thursday, with the index dropping 0.49 percent to finish at 23,487.46. Wall Street also saw a weak performance, with the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 all closing lower. The sell-off on Wall Street was driven by Walmart’s disappointing guidance and concerns over ongoing tariff issues. Oil prices rose on Thursday due to supply disruptions in Russia and a drop in gasoline and distillate fuel stocks.
