Tesla has launched its Full Self-Driving system in China, receiving positive feedback for its performance and quick adaptation to local road conditions. The system was trained using video footage of Chinese roads, similar to its North American counterpart.

Elon Musk credits Tesla’s video-based training method for the system’s rapid localization in China, reducing the need for extensive software development. As the system collects more real-world data, its capabilities are expected to improve further.

Tesla’s FSD has evolved from a rules-based framework to a neural network trained on millions of video clips, replacing thousands of lines of code. Despite positive reviews in China, the company faces competition from local automakers offering affordable driver-assistance systems.
