Tesla's negative narrative is overblown, with Cybertruck outselling competitors in the US and China.

Tesla (TSLA) has faced negative headlines about sales declines and the Cybertruck being a “cyberflop.” Despite this, investors should not sell, as Tesla’s Cybertruck outsold Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Rivian’s R1T in the U.S. Tesla also saw success in China and remains dominant in U.S. EV sales.
Critics have called the Cybertruck a “dumb product” and a “flop.” However, the Cybertruck cracked the top 10 EVs sold in the U.S. and ranked 5th with nearly 39,000 units sold. Tesla’s success in China is crucial, with record sales and a strong end to 2024.
While Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 saw sales declines in 2024, they still ranked 1st and 2nd in U.S. EV sales. Tesla’s market share dropped to 48.7%, but the company remains dominant. Tesla’s success in the U.S. and China positions it well for another strong year in the EV industry.
