Energy and Technology sectors surged, with Marathon Petroleum Corp. and Palantir Technologies showing gains.

In afternoon trading, Energy stocks surged 1.7%, with Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) and APA Corp (APA) leading the way with gains of 6.9% and 4.5% respectively. The Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) is up 1.9% on the day and 4.88% year-to-date. Technology & Communications sector followed, up 0.9%, with Palantir Technologies Inc (PLTR) and Super Micro Computer Inc (SMCI) showing gains of 22.3% and 8.6%. XLK ETF is up 1.2% and down 0.89% year-to-date. S&P 500 components in various sectors are mixed, with Energy and Technology leading the way.
