Lockheed Martin was awarded a $383 million contract by the U.S. Navy to develop the Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 missile for the nation’s sea-based strategic deterrence. The upgraded missile will be carried aboard COLUMBIA-class submarines to ensure credibility through 2084. Lockheed Martin plans to build a production facility in Florida and add 300 jobs to support strategic missile modernization.
