AAR (NYSE:AIR) shares plummeted over 16% today after reporting better-than-expected earnings for Q3 but falling short on revenue. The company posted an adjusted EPS of $0.99, beating analyst estimates by a penny, but revenue came in at $678 million, missing the consensus of $698.97 million.
The revenue miss was despite a 20% year-over-year increase, driven by strong aftermarket services performance. Parts Supply sales grew 12%, while Repair & Engineering surged over 53%, boosted by the Product Support acquisition and increased throughput at Airframe MRO facilities.
AAR managed to reduce its net leverage ratio from 3.58x to 3.06x over the past year and is focused on further strengthening its balance sheet. Management remains optimistic about ongoing sales momentum and expects additional margin expansion as strategic initiatives take effect.
