Actis acquires Stride Climate Investments, a solar portfolio in India, from Macquarie Asset Management. The deal value remains undisclosed. Stride owns a 371MW solar PV asset portfolio in seven Indian states, primarily in Gujarat, with long-term power purchase agreements. Actis sees potential for cash yields and growth in India’s renewable energy sector.

Actis, with a history of successful investments in Indian renewables, views Stride as a strategic addition. The Indian government aims for 50% electricity from renewables by 2030, creating opportunities for investors like Actis. The acquisition of Stride aligns with Actis’ focus on long-lasting infrastructure investments and value creation in a rapidly growing market.

In September 2024, Actis signed a $600m partnership with Meralco Powergen and SPNEC for the Philippines’ Terra Solar project. Actis will acquire a 40% equity stake in the project through new shares. The move expands Actis’ energy generation platforms in Asia, reflecting its commitment to sustainable infrastructure investments.
